Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Monday 28th October 2013

Jesus gave his disciples a framework for prayer that we now call the Lord’s Prayer, a prayer all about inviting the Kingdom of God to break into our lives today. This week we shall be reflecting on this Kingdom Prayer a line at a time.

Reading: Matthew 6:9 ‘This, then, is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name’’

Thought for Reflection: Do you struggle with prayer? I know I do. It is comforting to find that the disciples did too. It is not something that comes naturally, but we have to learn how to. The great thing is that when we pray we’re praying to a loving Father rather than a heavenly examiner! He rejoices over our stumbling prayers rather than demanding that we are word perfect and fluent in every way.

Prayer: Father, teach us to pray.
