The observant ones amongst you will have realised that I accidentally replicated Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s notes yesterday and today – apologies! Here are the correct notes…

Thursday
John 8:12 NIV
[12] When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

One of my earliest memories is of going down the garden in the dark following someone who didn’t realise I was there and so they went ahead and left me alone in the dark. I remember the relief of turning and seeing the light of our house and heading back to safety! We live in a world that can seem a bit scary at times and we need to turn and see the light of the world, the one who will never forget that we are there, so that we can walk safely through the darkness in that amazing light of life!

Lord Jesus, thank you for the life you give – a life transformed by your light and full with your grace.

Friday
John 3:16 NIV
[16] For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 6:40 NIV
[40] For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

Life – how wonderful a gift and free to all who look to the Son and believe! The best reason for any gift is love (much more satisfying than those things we give out of duty!!!) and here is love beyond measure – that our Father in heaven gives his own son so that we might have life – life in all its fullness now and for eternity!! The world has nothing like this to offer!

Jesus, be the centre
Be my source, be my light
Jesus
Jesus, be the centre
Be my hope, be my song
Jesus
Be the fire in my heart
Be the wind in these sails
Be the reason that I live
Jesus, Jesus
