Acts 1:3-5 NIV
[3] After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.
Gradually the truth that Jesus was alive began to penetrate the disciples minds and hearts – this truth that was almost too wonderful to bear! No wonder that he had to give “many convincing proofs” – it was extraordinary and life changing that Jesus was alive. Is it easy for us to be so familiar with the account of Jesus’ death and resurrection that we forget how mind-blowing it really is?
Lord Jesus, help us to worship you afresh and to marvel at the transformation that the resurrection made and makes today!
