Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Acts 1:4-5 (10.04.18)

Acts 1:4-5
[4] On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. [5] For John baptised with water, but in a few days you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit.”

Even with the proof that Jesus was alive, the disciples needed something else in order to share the message that changed the world! They had to wait….to look expectantly to God and to receive from him the promised Holy Spirit. The promise of Gods presence with us is essential for the life of faith – we need to wait on God every day to receive afresh from him!

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
Break me, melt me, mould me, fill me:
Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.
