Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Acts 8:32-33 (30.05.18)

Acts 8:32-33 NIV
This is the passage of Scripture the eunuch was reading: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. [33] In his humiliation he was deprived of justice. Who can speak of his descendants? For his life was taken from the earth.”

This passage from Isaiah 53 speaks of someone oppressed and powerless, ultimately executed. Of course we know that is Jesus who submitted himself to humanity in this way, walking with those facing injustice and standing with the vulnerable.

Thank you Lord that we are not alone in our struggles. Help us to walk with those who are oppressed as you have walked with us.
