13 Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray…
I love the immediacy of James, no faffing around, he get’s straight to the point. Are you in trouble? Pray. It’s not that we shouldn’t explore other avenues of getting help after, but our first port of call should be God. In fact, by going to God, we are worshipping him, we are saying that we believe he is the one who has the power, insight, sovereignty and compassion required to deal with our problem. As a child turns to their parent, so we turn to our Father.
Are you in trouble? Ask for help. Know others in trouble? Pray for them.
