On Sunday morning Ben started a series going through Matthew and he started with the genealogy of Jesus. This week in the notes we are looking at some of the people in that genealogy – many of the people have stories that are quite fascinating – worth a look!!
Hebrews 11:8,10 NIV
[8] By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going………… [10] For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
Abraham left everything in obedience to Gods call and in Hebrews we get the reason why – he was not satisfied with the world as it was but wanted to find God’s way and Gods hope. Today we live in a world in desperate need of a new hope and foundation – Look to Jesus and follow him!
Lord, help us to share Abrahams longing for the city you are building, for the people you have purchased and for the future you have planned.
