Matthew 10:11-14 (03.04.19)

11 Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. 12 As you enter the home, give it your greeting. 13 If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. 14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.

Our task is an urgent one, or at least that’s the implication of these verses. Time is too short to waste trying to persuade those who don’t accept the message of Jesus’ love and sacrifice. Rather than wasting time arguing (and let’s face it, do such arguments ever really help?), move on and focus on those will respond to what we have to say.

Jesus, thank you for the peace you’ve given us, help us not to lose it but to share it. Show us who is open to you so that we might focus on them.
