Bible Notes

Matthew 24:6-8 (10.09.19)

Matthew 24:6-8 NIV
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. [7] Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. [8] All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Jesus spoke these words as he foresaw the trouble the disciples would face after his death, especially when the Romans would run out of patience with the Jews and march on Jerusalem and the Temple. Following Jesus doesn’t guarantee an easy life I’m afraid! But Jesus is quick to reassure them that these troubles are only temporary, they only last until his Kingdom comes in all its glory.

What troubles do we/you face at this time? Know that Jesus wants to reassure you that they will pass and all will be well. Pray that he will give the strength to endure with hope.
