Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
They say in times of economic trouble when stocks and shares are fluctuating, that you should invest in gold, because gold retains its value. Jesus’ Word, like gold and love (see 1 Cor. 13:8) is the same, it has lasting value and import. Its message, its relevance, its value, its wisdom remains forever – fads, fashions, events in the news and even relationships will come and go, but his Word will always count.
Take some time to consider what you invest your time and energy and emotions in – does spending time with Jesus and following his Word rate as highly as it ought.
