Psalm 4:1,8 (08.01.20)

Psalm 4:1,8 NIV
[1] Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer………… [8] In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.

We live in a world where peace and security are often scarce! Here is where to look and what to do with our fears and doubts – call to God and accept his safety so that you can “lie down and sleep in peace” – he takes your worries and carries them for you.

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well, with my soul
It is well
With my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul
(Horacio Spafford – worth finding out how he came to write this hymn!!)
