Philippians 1:20-21 (23.01.20)

Philippians 1:20-21 NIV
[20] I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. [21] For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

It is here that knowing Jesus makes a massive difference – death is the final enemy, the one thing that the world cannot cope with and we do everything to avoid. But Jesus has conquered death and removed its sting and this releases us to enjoy life in all its fullness. Paul’s one central hope is Jesus – whatever he faces and wherever he goes, Christ is the key! To live is Jesus living in him and to die is to gain his presence for eternity – this is joyous hope and freedom!

4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey
