Philippians 3:10-11 NIV
[10] I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, [11] and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.
Paul had holy ambition – to know Christ, which seems something we would all want but then look at the next bit:
To know the power of his resurrection – yes, that sounds a pretty exciting way to live!
To know participation in his sufferings – not quite so easy!! When we are mocked for our faith or sidelined because of trying to live like Jesus – this gives us the opportunity to know how Jesus felt and to share with him. It may be all sorts of trials you face today but if our heart is to know Jesus then he can take the trials and share them with us – he knows all about them and has been through them for love of you and me!
Lord Jesus, I want to know you and the power of your resurrection in my life today. Help me to face every circumstance in the sure knowledge that you are with me and you understand.
