Philippians 4:8 (17.02.20)

Philippians 4:8 NIV
[8] Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

I once had a slightly eccentric teacher who decorated his classroom with signs asking things like “What are you thinking about now?” His aim was to try and instil the importance of right thinking and to teach us to be careful about cultivating a right and active mind. Paul wants us to fill our minds with good things – not to live in denial or in “cloud-cuckoo land” but to allow God to change us inside – in our thinking and in our hearts. This is different from the jaded and often cynical culture we live in. Read this verse again and take action today!!!

Lord, let my mind be a place where you are welcome at any time.
