Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Psalm 91:9-13 (19.03.20)

Psalm 91:9-13 NIV
If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
[10] no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
[11] For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
[12] they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
[13] You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

Do you recognise verses 10-11? The Devil quoted them to Jesus when he was tempted in the wilderness, suggesting that he cast himself from the Temple, promising that angels would dramatically rescue him, making him famous and popular instantly.
It is all too easy when our daily routines are disrupted, for good habits to go out of the window at the same time. Be alert, as Jesus was, to the lure of temptation and continue to seek to live lives reflecting his.

Father, nudge us by your Spirit if we wander from you.
