But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

If someone asks me why I follow Liverpool Football Club, I have an answer (long story, ask if you’re interested). If I’m asked what my favourite band is, I can respond. If I’m asked about my political views, I’m prepared to explain why I vote the way I do. And why do I go to church? Why do I believe in Jesus?  Surely that’s more important!

Spirit, help me to be ready with my response when I’m asked about my faith.
