Micah 6:8 (19.06.20)

This week we’re continuing to reflect on the scripture behind the topics explored on Sunday morning.

Micah 6:8 NIV
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

I feel like I’m repeating a Government slogan here, not ‘stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives’, but, ‘act justly, love mercy, walk humbly’ – forgive me! This is not a sound-bite slogan, however, but a profound insight into what God is looking for: a people who strive for a just and fair world, taking action against oppression and standing with the downtrodden, a people who know that they are imperfect and at times the source of injustice, and  a people who offer mercy to others as they rely on the mercy of God.

Spirit, help us be and become such a people.

Ps. Don’t forget to pray for and promote the Alpha Course…
