Acts 12:11-12 NIV
Then Peter came to himself and said, “Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen.” [12] When this had dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gathered and were praying.
I love what this says about the church. We know that their response to Peter’s situation was to pray, but here we discover that prayer is so important to them that Peter knew that this is what they would be doing and so went straight to where he knew they would be gathered to do this. I find this humbling – I know my prayer life is no where near this.
As the disciples once asked, Lord, teach me to pray…
