Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Psalm 122:3-4 (20.10.20)

Psalm 122 V. 3-4
A song of ascents. Of David.
Jerusalem is built like a city
that is closely compacted together.
That is where the tribes go up—
the tribes of the Lord—
to praise the name of the Lord
according to the statute given to Israel.

We too, the body of the church, are built as a city and in following Jesus we are closely compacted together in fellowship and common purpose. Our witness is to abide by His way to do the best we can in all we say and do and in how we relate to others. No matter where our daily life takes us, whether we are alone, or at work, or doing something else, we are called as a pilgrim people, an assembly of saints, to sing praises to God  and to remember no matter how busy, the encouragement in scripture is to  pray without ceasing.

Lord God, in the midst of this busy day of mine, take this my simple prayer as a hymn of praise to you.
