Psalm 25:2-5 (05.12.16)

Advent week 2 Hope in troubled times

Psalm 25:2-5 NIV
[2] I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me. [3] No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause. [4] Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. [5] Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.

Where is our hope? Through the waiting of advent we have the example of Gods people down through the ages who centred their hope in God and discovered his faithfulness and love for them. Look to him today – he is our saviour and our certain hope!

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus Christ, my righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
