Genesis 6:9-12 (11.01.18)

Genesis 6:9-12 NIV
This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. [10] Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth. [11] Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. [12] God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways.

What an amazing image, Noah walking faithfully with God – even more impressive against the backdrop of those around him. I must be honest, whilst part of me desires that, but another part of me hankers after the same things as his neighbours; as Paul put it in the New Testament there is a battle in me between the new and the old man.

Father, align my will with yours that I might be faithful and long for and walk with you.
