Ephesians 1 22-23
And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
There is a well-known hymn which contains the line, “Our God Reigns”. God created the world and all that is in it. The church is His body. As members of the church we who have committed our lives to God are by this definition a part that body. The church, writes Paul, IS his body. If we the church are the body of the all holy God, we need to act as a holy people saved by the blood of Christ and sanctified by grace, ask ourselves how well we measure up and pray that God will fill us in every way.
Heavenly Father by grace I am made a temple of the Holy Spirit. Fill me with your presence so that mine might be the feet who will bring Good News.
