Ephesians 2:6-9 NIV
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, [7] in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. [8] For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— [9] not by works, so that no one can boast.
Not so long ago we celebrated the wonder of Jesus leaving heaven and becoming one of us, part of his creation. Here Paul celebrates the reverse journey made possible by this first journey, Jesus taking us back to the heavenly realms to reign with him. What an awesome concept that is, expressed here in the present tense as all that is needed for it was achieved through the Cross, our destination is already secure.
Father, may what has been achieved and is certain, spur me on today!
