Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— [9] not by works, so that no one can boast.
Who am I to God?
In the grand scheme of things I am insignificant, one person amongst billions. I am not the greatest person, nor am I the worst. Have I been faithful to him? In some ways I hope so, but in many ways no, not really.
All in all I am just another middle of the road person achieving middle of the road mediocracy.
I would like to think there would be some who would miss me if I was no longer here, but probably not so many.
I suspect I am not alone…
And this is why God’s love is so surprising. You see, he does see me. He does notice. Get this, he even loves me! There is no reason for this. No merit in my behalf. Nothing God gains for it. But nevertheless, love me he does. And you.
If only I could learn to love the same way.
