Habakkuk 1:1-2 NIV
[1] The prophecy that Habakkuk the prophet received. [2] How long, Lord, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” but you do not save?
The book of Habakkuk is a conversation between Habakkuk and God that resonates today. How many things do we see in the world that seem unjust, wrong, violent and beyond us? Habakkuk was the same – he cried out to God about them and this is our first encouragement! Whatever we face today, bring it to God and share it with him and see what happens. Jesus said “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest” – take him at his word today and like Habakkuk, bring your problem to God.
Lord Jesus, help me to look to you as the centre of my life today.
