John 17:20-21 (NIVUK)
20 ‘My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
We though the other day about how prayer reveals us for who we are God’s child approaching our Heavenly Father. Jesus’ prayer adds another layer, not only do we have an individual relationship with God, but we also have a communal relationship with each other. Prayer is one of the ways we are united, Jesus’ prayer for us as his body and our own prayers for each other.
Take some time to pray for our family, especially for those maybe whom you feel you might have wronged or might have wronged you. Father, unite us your children in love.
