Matthew 15:29-31 (23.05.19)

Matthew 15:29-31 NIV
Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down. [30] Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. [31] The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel.

Moses went up Sinai at the start of the Exodus story to ratify the covenant, God’s offer of being their God and making them his people. Now Jesus goes up the mountain to restore and make new the people of God, welcoming all into the Kingdom, including the lame, blind, crippled mute, and even opening the way for the Gentiles!

Father, we join the crowd in praising you! Thank you Jesus for bringing us into your family!
