Matthew 18:6 (18.06.19)

Matthew 18:6 NIV
“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

As David explored on Sunday, Jesus isn’t really speaking about children here; look back to Matthew 18:3 NIV, ‘[Jesus] said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.’ This is not a mandate to murder, but an exaggerated call not to trample over each other, or to live in ways that distract others from following Jesus’ example, rather to care for and show grace towards others as they try to follow God.

Father, help us to be radically gentle and gracious as you are.
