Philippians 1:12-14 NIV
[12] Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel. [13] As a result, it has become clear throughout the whole palace guard and to everyone else that I am in chains for Christ. [14] And because of my chains, most of the brothers and sisters have become confident in the Lord and dare all the more to proclaim the gospel without fear.
Paul’s life was full of apparent setbacks and challenges – to have your top preacher in prison is not ideal! – but see how his faith rises to see that God can use even that for blessing! God knows what you are going through and he cares about it more than we can imagine but his solution may not be what we think of as the obvious one. Paul’s sojourn in prison gave us some of the great letters and he could accept God’s hand even in his chains!
Lord, if you are with me through the challenges of today then my life can bear fruit – give me patience and vision to see that you are with me.
