Philippians 4:4-7 (07.02.20)

Philippians 4:4-7 NIV
[4] Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! [5] Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. [6] Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. [7] And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Rejoice…be gentle…don’t be anxious…be thankful – here is a list that often seems the opposite of the way of the world!!!! And what is the underpinning that makes such an attitude possible? “The Lord is near” – it is this that lets us have peace in our hearts and makes rejoicing possible. Jesus has promised to be with us always and that includes the situations we face today. Rejoice in the Lord – always!

Give thanks with a grateful heart (with a grateful heart)
Give thanks to the Holy One (to the Holy One)
Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say, “I am strong”
Let the poor say, “I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us”
(Henry Smith)
