Philippians 4:17-19 (20.02.20)

Philippians 4:17-19 NIV
[17] Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. [18] I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. [19] And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

When we give, whether of our money, time or talents, it is not just to meet a need and do our duty!! It is a “fragrant offering” – something that smells good, like a bouquet of fresh flowers or a beautiful meal, presented to God because we love him. And amazingly, God delights in being given those small things that we bring to him. This changes our day to day life in a wonderful way because we live in relationship – we honour and please God and he meets all our needs – what could be better?

Praise is rising, eyes are turning to You, we turn to You
Hope is stirring, hearts are yearning for You, we long for You
‘Cause when we see You we find strength to face the day
In Your presence all our fears are washed away, washed away
