Ezra 3:10-11 (07.05.20)

Ezra 3:10-11 NIV
[10] When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments and with trumpets, and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise the Lord, as prescribed by David king of Israel. [11] With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord: “He is good; his love toward Israel endures forever.” And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

Gods people have always made a noise! Whether it was the trumpets round Jericho, songs in the night and the day, cymbals, guitars  or great shouts, God has been exalted in the praises of his people. Today we have a message to shout about – Jesus has conquered death and laid the foundation for his church and is alive forever! That’s how Paul and Silas could sing in prison, why some of the great martyrs could suffer with such joy – because God is at work!

When I wake, I know that He is with me;
When I’m weak, I know that He is strong.
Though I fall, His arm is there to lean on:
Safe on the Rock of Jesus.
Stir in me the songs that You are singing;
Fill my gaze with things as yet unseen.
Give me faith to move in works of power,
Making me more like Jesus.
