1 John 5:13-14
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

I’ve had occasion recently to phone a variety of businesses up to speak to people. What a palaver that can be! An ever circling chain of answerphone options and extensive waits whilst being told I am valuable to them – something that the length of wait and poor service often negates… Yesterday I encouraged you to find hope in Jesus as we look towards the second lockdown, but why can we have a secure hope in him? Here’s a first reason, through what Jesus has done for us, we have God’s ear. When we pray, he hears us. I wonder if sometimes we take that amazing access for granted.

What is it that you’d like to tell God today? What would you like to ask him? Go ahead, and know that because of Jesus, he has heard you.
