Bible Notes

Psalm 62:9-10 (12.11.20)

Psalm 62:9-10 NIV
Surely the lowborn are but a breath,
the highborn are but a lie.
If weighed on a balance, they are nothing;
together they are only a breath.
Do not trust in extortion
or put vain hope in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them.

Made in God’s image, humans are precious, treasured and to be valued and respected, but these verses remind us not to forget that our value comes not from our reputation or position, our cunning or our wealth, it comes from him, being made by him and our relationship with him.

You Lord are our treasure and aspiration, in you we find our meaning and being!
