2 Corinthians 13.12
Greet one another with a holy kiss.
Will the day come soon when we can do just that – give one another a hug, a warm handshake, or even a fond kiss? Note that the apostle exhorts his readers to give one another a holy kiss. I think he is aware that there is such a thing as an unholy kiss, and we should always be careful about that danger. Nevertheless, although I am not a touchy-feely kind of person, once a vaccine has finally evaporated our fear of contact, and we can gather again freely as a congregation without face masks or social distancing, I will find it hard to resist the urge to embrace my brothers and sisters. So, sometime in this New Year, look out for me!
Father, thank you for the gift of our family! May we be a people of welcome.
