Bible Notes

Isaiah 55:6-8 (21.01.21)

Isaiah 55:6-8
6 Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call on him while he is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
8 ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,’
declares the Lord.

Our thoughts are not God’s thoughts, and neither are our ways. Last night at our Bible Study we were considering the greatness and majesty of God, and Isaiah’s response in Isaiah 6 to seeing him – that of fear having realised the gulf of difference between them. We are nothing compared to him. Despite our being vastly inferior and broken, however, God does not reject us, but offers us forgiveness and hope, relationship even. Don’t let that opportunity pass you by.

Father, I turn to you afresh today.
