1 Samuel 15:34-35
34 Then Samuel left for Ramah, but Saul went up to his home in Gibeah of Saul. 35 Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though Samuel mourned for him. And the Lord regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.
God does not long for revenge on those who sin or take joy in judgement. His loves ALL and longs for a healthy relationship with everyone. Our sinfulness only brings him sorrow over what has been lost and what could have been.
Soften our hearts, Lord, that we might respond to others positively not destructively, seeing them with the same compassion with which you see us.
