Hebrews 11: 1-2
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. 2. This is what the ancients were commended for.
Christians believe in God, but how often do we think about faith, what it is and what it means? Here revealed by God in these few words to the writer of Hebrews is His definition. At once simple, yet profound in meaning these words bring us to the very centre of belief in God. Our hope rests in the salvation won for us on the cross at Calvary and we have the assurance that God will be with us until the end of time. And we are assured that those who believe and live by his word are His beloved. Let us resolve once more to renew our faith and walk daily in the love of God, secure in Him.
Blessed assurance, Jesus in mine:
O what a foretaste of Glory divine!
Heir of Salvation, purchase of God;
Born of His Spirit washed in his blood.
