1 John 1:5
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
Our identity and life comes from God, who we are is based on who he is, what we do is based on what he does. John, the eyewitness of Christ, shares Christ’s witness – God is light. Light isn’t explained, I wonder the imagery suggests to you. Peace, purity, illumination, guidance, life? It could be all of these, but one thing is clear, there is no place for darkness – fear, evil, chaos or death.
Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes, Let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore you
Hope of a life spent with you
Here I am to worship…
