1 John 3:23-24
23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
Tomes and tomes have been written of Christian theology, and the same amount again exploring and debating the meaning of the various books in the Bible. There would not be enough time in a life time to watch every sermon on YouTube, or even the 60 second baby counterparts on Instagram! But its heart is so simple. And to make it even simpler for us, God gives us his Spirit to help us – the Spirit who also acts as our proof that we’re his children.
Read this prayer. It’s a simple one. If you think its one you could mean, why don’t you make it yours and say it?
Today I will seek to make Jesus my leader and to trust in him. Today I plan to choose for others, to practise his kind of sacrificial love. Spirit, will you help me?
