1 John 5:13-15
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

This certainty about where we stand with God transforms our relationship with him completely, and no where is this seen more obviously than in prayer. We don’t have to come pleading in order to get God’s ear, we don’t have to polish up our prayers to earn a listening on artistic merit, in fact we don’t need to worry about them at all! Instead when we pray we are children coming before our parent. That’s a totally different dynamic. We can come confident in the knowledge that God listens simply because we are his and he loves us.

What is it that you want to tell your Father today? Is there anything you’d like to ask him?
