Mark 4:30-32 (NIVUK)
30 Again he said, ‘What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. 32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.’
Another parable about growth – it must have been important to Jesus, Mark has him telling three here almost back to back! This on is about minute seeds, the smallest in the world, just a speck, becoming what sounds like a massive tree! One supermarket used to claim ‘every little helps’, and that’s certainly the case here. What little thing could you do today to point people towards Jesus?
Jesus, I may not have much courage or fine words, but I can do something and know that you can take it and make it count.
