Serving Jesus in Our Community

Bible Notes

Hebrews 10:19-22 (28.04.22)

Hebrews 10:19-22 (NIVUK)
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

We pray so casually. When we pray we do it freely, and in a sense without thinking. If we stopped and thought about what we were doing, talking to God, the Lord Almighty, the Creator, Above all Things, I wonder how much it might change what we do and how we approach it? I certainly wouldn’t stroll up to the doors of Buckingham Palace for example, and gabble a message thought up on the spur of the moment! But strangely, it’s ok, because through the resurrection, although God is God, he is also our Father, and that changes everything.

Thank you Jesus, that you have opened a way for us God, not just as Lord, but also as Father. Father, it’s Wonderful to be with you, to know you and to be welcomed into your presence.
