Psalm 68:4-6 (NIVUK)
4 Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds;
rejoice before him – his name is the Lord.
5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.
6 God sets the lonely in families,
he leads out the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
We cannot finish a week where we’ve been looking at people caring for widows, without looking at Psalm 68, which celebrates God from whom such love and care originates.
Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and care which you shower on us, especially upon the most needy and vulnerable! What a god, what a father!
