Bible Notes

1 John 5:13-15 (02.08.23)

1 John 5:13-15 (NIVUK)
13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.

Having PAUSED, and REJOICED, today we ASK. We ask confident that God hears and responds to our prayers – but note the qualifier, he answers our prayers if they are asked ‘according to his will’. How can we make sure our prayers are in line with his will? In a general way, ask yourself if what you’re praying expresses love to God and others. Another tip is to pray through a piece of scripture, applying its message and themes in prayer for yourself and others as you go.

Thank you Father that you hear our prayers and in your love, you answer. Help us to align our prayers with your will.
