Luke 12:11-12 (NIVUK)
11 ‘When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, 12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.’
Jesus always had a way with words; he seemed to be able to say the right thing, to the right person, at the right time. Don’t you wish you could be the same? I know I do! But here’s the thing, Jesus promised us that one of the roles of the Spirit was exactly that, to give us the right words, at the right time, for the right person, when we’re speaking about our faith. He won’t necessarily make us a sparkling orator, but that doesn’t matter, if we let him, he’ll say what needs to be said in the best way for those that need to hear it.
Spirit, take my words and let them be just what is needed for those you want to hear.
