2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIVUK)
For we live by faith, not by sight.
This phrase is found in the midst of a discussion about our current ‘earthly’ context and our future ‘heavenly’ context, a discussion which is full of metaphoric and poetic language as the writer strains to describe a future existence that we only have glimpses of today. This is a key principle for Paul, however. He approaches life today in response to what he sees and understands of God’s Kingdom to come, when all that is not of God is stripped away. How does what you know of Gods Kingdom inform how you should live and interact with others in the present?
Father, help me to live by the values and objectives of your kingdom to come today.
