Reading: Psalm 120:5-7
5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshek,
that I live among the tents of Kedar!
6 Too long have I lived
among those who hate peace.
7 I am for peace;
but when I speak, they are for war.
Thought for Reflection:
Here in this Psalm is the start of a journey to worship God. It begins with the realisation that our God is a God of peace and yet we live in a world which is for war, mockery and aggression. Jesus came with a message and a life of love and yet stirred up a reaction that ended at the cross of Calvary. His, however, is a far better way, both then and now and he calls us to find it!
Prayer:
Lord help us on the journey of faith to discover your peace which is beyond all understanding and to resist violence in all its forms, meeting it with love.
