Wormley Free Church has been involved in Broxbourne Foodbank since its formation. Our minister was involved in its formation and is one of its trustees. As a church we provide our premises free of charge as a distribution centre, Monday – Friday, 3.30-5pm, and support it through providing volunteers, trustees and food.
As food is kept off-site at the Foodbank warehouse, guests need to be referred by a recognised agency (such as a GP, housing association or school) prior to coming.
Broxbourne Foodbank was awarded with the Kings Award for Voluntary Service in 2023, the equivalent of an MBE for an organisation.
