Reading: Psalm 122:6-9
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
7 May there be peace within your walls
and security within your citadels.”
8 For the sake of my family and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your prosperity.
Thought for Reflection:
In a world where there is a lot of conflict and stress, Jesus said he leaves us peace – a peace that the world does not understand or know. Maybe that’s a peace that comes with security – the safety of having God live with you and travelling with you on the journey. Both as individuals and as a church, with God at the centre of our lives, we are safe.
Prayer:
Lord, in all the stress, worry or busyness of today, let me know your peace and security and help me to share that with the people I meet.
